When mankind explored their territory, they had to exploit every inch of terrain, letting their marks and their religious beliefs: oratories, crosses, chapels and blesses recounts the popular faith of the ancient mountain dwellers.


Visitor alert :
This hike is accessible with a dog, but we advise you to keep your dog on a lead throughout the entire route. This helps to protect wildlife, preserve flora and ensure the peace and quiet of other hikers.
Guidebook with maps/step-by-step :
Departure: From the car park in the village of Le Planay, follow the signs for Chambéranger: leave the road and take the path on the left leading up to Chambéranger. 1/ When you reach the village, continue along the street to the Saint Barthélémy chapel.
2/ Turn left and cross the village: at the bend, leave the road and continue straight ahead.
3/ Cross the old quarry and follow the signs along a forest path to the Notre-Dame de la Salette Chapel. From the chapel, take the Way of the Cross and follow the path on the right towards Planay.
4/ Leave the forest and cross the pastures. Follow the signs: the path passes to the left of a place called Le Chesalet.
5/ Descend back down to Planay.
