On the 19th July 2023, Brides-les-Bains will live in the rhythm of the 110th stage of the Tour de France. Between Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc and Courchevel, a stage that could be decisive for the Yellow Jersey, the riders will tackle the Col de la Loze for the first time, with a vertical drop of 2304m, starting from Brides-Les-Bains.
The 17th stage of the Tour de France will see the riders pass through Brides-les-Bains. To celebrate the event, from 1:30pm onwards in the Place du Centenaire, a DJ accompanied by Phil Lemon will perform, to set the pace for the passage of the traditional Tour Caravan and its distribution of goodies from partner brands, and the parade of sponsored trucks. The atmosphere will be incredible for the passage of the riders, expected between 1.30pm and 5pm. After the athletes have passed through, Phil Lemon offers a musical start to an evening then packed with entertainment until 7pm.
The Olympe and Saulire 1 cable cars will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. from Brides-les-Bains on 19th July, to take the riders up to the Col de la Loze. Access for a fee.
The start of the 18th stage of the Tour, on 20th July, will be given in Moutiers, a neighbouring village to Brides-les-Bains, at around 1pm. The riders will be heading for Bourg-en-Bresse for the rest of the competition. To mark the occasion, a free shuttle service will run between Brides-les-Bains and Moûtiers from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., enabling locals and tourists to watch the start of the stage.
As the base camp for the 17th and 18th stages, Brides-les-Bains is getting ready to welcome tourists and fans alike in a festive atmosphere that celebrates cycling. To mark the occasion, the entire week will be filled with cycling events such as the Gran Fondo on the Col de la Loze, as well as concerts and events organised by the Office du Tourisme.
